📆 October has barely started, and the calendar is already getting crowded. This weekend alone brings a truly excellent wine harvest festival in Valladolid, La Llorona on stage in Playa del Carmen, a full day of circus and community arts at the Puerto Morelos Botanical Garden, family activities, markets and more live music than anyone could reasonably fit into four days.

And this is only the warm-up. Announcements for Halloween, Hanal Pixán and Day of the Dead plans are appearing across the region, so this week’s newsletter includes a special preview of some of the holiday related events currently posted on the calendar. You’ll find children’s activities, community altars, candlelit concerts, costume parties, cultural festivals and several experiences worth booking early.

The preview follows this week’s Top Picks, and I’ll keep adding events to the calendar as new plans are announced.

Here’s what’s happening from Thursday through Sunday.
